Common questions

Everything you might want to know before joining.

Is Mercatora free to use?

Yes. Browsing the marketplace, posting requests, listing your company and messaging other companies are all free. We don't charge brokerage fees or commissions on transactions.

How is Mercatora different from Alibaba or other marketplaces?

Every supplier is manually reviewed by our team before being listed — no fake profiles, no anonymous accounts. Smaller, curated network focused on cross-border trade between Europe and Africa.

How do you verify suppliers?

Each company application is reviewed manually: company registration, certifications, and a direct conversation. Verification typically takes 3–5 business days.

How do I contact a supplier?

Click 'Send message' on any company profile. Messages live in our internal ticketing system — both sides get notified by email and can reply, attach details, or close tickets when done.

Can I list products my company sells?

Yes. Once your company is verified, you can add products with photos, descriptions and prices. Products appear on your public profile and in the marketplace browse view.

Can I post a sourcing request?

Yes — anyone can post a buyer request. Verified suppliers in matching categories will see it in their inbox and can reply directly.

Are my contact details visible to everyone?

No. Your email and personal details are never publicly visible. Other users see only your company name and the public content of your messages or briefs.

What industries are covered?

Cross-border B2B trade across Europe and Africa: food & beverage, cosmetics, textiles, packaging, agriculture, raw materials, industrial supplies and more. Pick the closest category — if it's not listed, choose 'Other'.
