Description

The IGI Motorized Fire Smoke Damper (MFSD) is a life-safety device installed in HVAC ductwork to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and toxic gases between firerated building compartments. Upon detection of smoke or heat, the spring-return actuator automatically drives the damper blades to the fully closed position, maintaining fire-rated separations and protecting escape routes. The IGI MFSD has been tested in accordance with EN 1363-1:2021 and achieves E120 fire integrity — maintaining containment for 120 minutes under standard fire exposure. The unit is supplied with a 24V or 230V motorized spring-return actuator. On power loss or fire alarm signal, the spring mechanism closes the damper without relying on the electrical supply
